BlueWater Marlin ("the app") is published by Red Oak Media House / Hodges Publishing ("we"). This policy explains what the app does with data. The short version: we collect nothing.
None. The app has no accounts, no analytics SDKs, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. We do not collect, store, or sell personal information.
If you grant location permission, your position is used only on your device to show your boat on the chart and compute bearing/distance to features you are viewing. Location is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. You can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings.
To draw the map, the app requests satellite ocean data from public U.S. government servers (NOAA CoastWatch, NOAA AOML, NASA) and, optionally, through our caching relay hosted on Microsoft Azure. These requests contain only the geographic area you are viewing and the data layer requested. Our relay logs standard operational metadata (timestamp, requested area, response size, and the requester's IP address as received by Azure) for reliability monitoring, retained for no more than 30 days, and never joined to any identity. Base map tiles are provided by Apple Maps under Apple's privacy policy.
The app is not directed to children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.
We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date.
